Blacksmith is a recurring character in both Phoenotopia and Phoenotopia: Awakening, being the owner of the smithy in Daea or Daea City in the respective game.

Personality[]

Despite running his own smithy, the Blacksmith is not very talkative. Preferring not to be constantly disturbed, the handling of customers is handed over to his apprentice who is more than happy to help. Most of the time the Blacksmith is seen pounding away at his anvil presumably to craft more of the Equipment sold there.

Normal Offers[]

In Phoenotopia, while the Iron Hammer is also available in Atai City, the Chain Mail is only sold in the smithy and provides slightly more protection than the Leather Vest.

In Phoenotopia: Awakening, both the Steel Bat and Jade Hauberk are exclusive to the smithy. In addition, the Civilian Crossbow, Crank Lamp, and Fishing Rod are also available here at different prices. Lastly, the Cosette Cannoli will be sold here after obtaining the Night Star, interestingly enough.

Custom Request[]

Besides the aforementioned Equipment sold in the smithy, the Blacksmith would also take custom request and craft you the strongest melee weapon if you bring him enough materials.

In Phoenotopia, players can hand over 2 pieces of Asteroid Rock to his apprentice. The Morning Star will soon be ready to take after paying an extra 200 Rai crafting fee.

In Phoenotopia: Awakening, the Dream Ore is obtained only near the end of the elaborated Trading Sequence. When shown to the Blacksmith, he expresses great joy and immediately goes to work with the other half that he already owns. Shortly after, the Night Star is created and given to Gail for free as gratitude from the Blacksmith.

Trivia[]

  • The fire in the smithy is not for cooking
  • His apprentice is hired specifically for talking to customers, not for his potential contrary to his belief
  • It is unclear how the Blacksmith was capable of knowing so precisely where the shooting star sundered in half had fallen into, especially when he had only seen it in a dream. He should also not have observed the landscape of the Daea Region in great details with bird-eye's view prior, considering the technology available
