Dogs are enemies seen in Phoenotopia. They appear in the mid-late stages of the game and can be considered a step up from Toads as they have similar attack patterns, with the Dogs being more aggressive and able to walk around even when not openly attacking Gale.

There are two types of Dogs found in the game. The first type is the Guard Dog, which appears in the dungeons of Daea. Like most of the more advanced enemies in the game, Guard Dogs are seen roaming around at first, but as soon as they see Gale they will start attacking. Before attacking, the Guard Dog will bay for a few seconds, which will alert nearby guards (if any).  It attacks by leaping at Gale. Hitting a Guard Dog will cause it to immediately become enraged, turning red, moving and attacking more quickly until it is killed. Javelins are particularly useful for fighting Guard Dogs as they allow Gale to attack from a safe distance, although it's important to note that their hitbox is too small for a javelin to touch a Guard Dog standing on the same level as Gale.

Forgotten Forest features a second, more dangerous type of dog known as the Plant Dog. As its name implies, the Plant Dog is a curious hybrid between a Guard Dog and a plant. It is significantly bigger than a Guard Dog and is colored green.

Not only does the Plant Dog deal more damage and have more HP, but it can also run up to Gale before jumping at her and is able to shoot spores at Gale from the flower on its back. Spore launching is preceded by baying from the Plant Dog and the spores making a whistling sound when launched. It is capable of launching these spores at very long distances and with great accuracy, making the Plant Dog a difficult enemy to kill without taking damage. The spores can pass through walls as well.

A friendly baby Plant Dog can be found in the Hidden Village.

In Phoenotopia Awakening, the dogs are replaced by a new class of enemies, the Boars.
